Who's the bully now?

It's hard to believe that these two little guys used to be these two little guys...

We joined Naman and his mom for a trip to the bird aviary (is that redundant?) yesterday, which was a lot of fun, but as usually, the best part was just seeing our cute little boys together.  They still don't have a lot to do with each other, other than trying to touch the other one's face, but they sure are cute.  Noah has definitely hit his growth spurt, while Naman hasn't change much, so it's quite a difference to see them together and nearly the same size.  They sure are cute!
Checking each other out to see if they can be friends.
My favorite
Naman is definitely thinking about getting Noah back for his previous attempts at bullying.
But Noah is ready with the sneak attack!
And I tried to put on a picture of the actual birds we saw, but blogger wasn't cooperating and I didn't care to take the time to figure it out.  But I promise, there were birds there.

Sensory Tub

Okay, I am so excited to share these pictures.  I don't know why, but I thought this was so fun!  I don't remember the website where I got the idea, although there are a lot of great ones like Productive Parenting and the Imagination Tree, but somewhere I found the idea to do a sensory tub with Noah.  This was really fun and keep him entertained for quite a while... a nice break from the toys he's used to playing with.  The great thing was that it was easy to make and easy to clean up.  Next time I'll probably add more to it, but I liked the idea of starting with just the uncooked noodles, rice, oatmeal and blocks.

Noah's favorite thing was to pick up a handful of rice and throw it on the floor.  Well, that and trying to eat the noodles... of course!

Fun with Mom and Dad

Reading time is always fun, but sometimes it's hard to stay awake.

This is by far my favorite picture to date.  Everyone always comments on Noah's hair, and I think there is no question to who he got it from.  :)  I love these blue eyed boys!

Notice how many toys this kid has in the background... and yet, he just wants to play with the box.  Typical.
And finally a self portrait with Momma.  Come to find out, this is much more difficult with a big camera.

Growing up too fast

My little baby is not so little anymore and has learned how to hold his bottle.  Do you realize that that makes me nearly obsolete?!  I know it's cool that he has achieved such greatness, but let the record show that about 5 seconds after this photo was taken, I went over and held him while he drank anyway.  I'm just not ready to let go quite yet.

Just because he's cute

These pictures just make me smile...

Love my blue eyed boys
Chillin' in the big bed
Should I be concerned about potential hoarding??
LOVE this chubby belly!  (And Dad sleeping while Noah eats.  ha!)

Be Still My Heart

At Eight Months

Eight whole months!  Holy cow...

- Noah weighs in at nearly 20 pounds and is about 27 1/2 inches long.  So far as I can tell, that now puts him in the 50th percentile for weight.  Quite a jump from his 6 month appointment and 10th percentile!
- He is a rolling machine!  We are definitely going to have to get a gate over the weekend and start to childproof the house.  (He has on more than one occasion rolled across the floor and started eating papers that he shouldn't have his hands on.  Silly boy!)
- No crawling yet, but you can tell that he tries to think about how to do it.
- He still talks a ton, but his favorite word of late is "Da-da" or "Daddy."  He just laughs at me if I try to get him to say "Mama."
- He sleeps through the night and is getting better about putting himself to sleep for naps.
- He still has no teeth, but that doesn't stop him from eating pretty much whatever he wants!
- While I wouldn't say he's "mastered" the sippy cup, he drinks from one pretty well these days.
- His hair is getting longer, but is just super fuzzy and won't lay down for anything.
- He loves baths, bouncing, toys, giggling with Daddy, singing songs and reading stories.
- He really is the happiest little baby around!

Hooray for America

Noah's first fourth of July was a big success.  He did pretty much everything that shouts "We love America." We started the morning off with a quick history lesson about declaring our independence from Great Britain and our winning of the Revolutionary War, followed by a trip to the local water park, where Noah decided that he wanted to take a nice nap in the shade before floating around the lazy river.  (He was probably worn out after his history lesson!)

After the water park and a nice afternoon nap, we BBQ'd with the neighbors, and Noah made a mess of himself with watermelon and tater tots.  He took a quick bath, and at what should have been his bedtime, we headed over to the neighborhood fourth of July extravaganza to watch some fireworks.  But, since bedtime is at 7pm, we missed most of the good fireworks that started after we left.  I'm pretty proud of my little trooper though, who stayed awake until 9pm, which meant we got to see some fireworks.  :)

And because of some awesome cousins, Noah was all decked out for the holiday.  Happy Independence Day America!

First baseball game

Back in April, we took Noah to his first baseball game.  It was our hometown triple A team, and Noah lasted a whole 3 innings.  :)  Next time maybe he'll stay awake a little longer.  But we had a good 3 innings.

I just realized that we'd never posted these pictures, because they were taken on a different camera.  Notice how little he looks!

And as a bonus, you get these great messy pictures... because they were also taken in April.  :)

For some reason, this picture just cracks me up!  He looks so perplexed.  :)

Best Dad Ever!

Okay, I am the World's worst blog updater, so I apologize in advance for the lateness of these posts (especially this one).  But, Happy Fathers Day to the World's Bestest Dad!  Steven really is such a great Dad to Noah, words can hardly do it justice.

Since the beginning, Steven has been great about getting up with Noah in the middle of the night, changing diapers, helping him fall asleep and playing with him after work (and sometimes during).  No one can get Noah to laugh as much as his daddy!  I'm pretty sure we are the luckiest family around, to have such a great husband, father and provider.

Fathers day was celebrated with cinnamon roll pancakes in the morning (YUM!) and rest and relaxation after church.  There was also some good BBQ and presents involved.  I can't speak for Steven, but I think it was a successful first fathers day.  We sure do love our Daddy!

Can you tell I struggle to find a favorite picture?!  I love these two guys so much!
